Thermal Imaging
Thermal imaging or infrared technology uses electromagnetic radiation (EMR) which can penetrate longer than visible light and ascertain the temperature of surfaces. Thus, in home inspections, we can use a digital infrared camera to "see beyond the wall surfaces" to obtain some information that the naked eye cannot see, particularly:
During a home inspection, we may use this technology if we suspect water damage or electrical issues but need more conclusive evidence such as in the image shown here, where we used it to confirm a water issue in the foundation. However, we also offer thermal imaging as an ancillary service where we will provide additional thermal images to cover specific areas of concern. |
